Our regional petroleum and petrochemical industries are conducting their operations amid a backdrop of rapidly shifting global economic and regulatory conditions. The challenge of long-term projections of profitability and product demand are difficult at a time when expectations regarding environmental performance continue to rise. The forthcoming Sixth Specialty Conference on Environmental Progress in the Petroleum and Petrochemical Industries, EnviroArabia 2010, will provide opportunities for petroleum and petrochemical industry professionals to come together to address these issues.

The theme of this conference is “Driving Environmental Progress in Challenging Times”. We will focus on continuing to make progress on a wide range of environmental matters in a world with rapidly changing public expectations and in an uncertain economic and regulatory climate.
I am hopeful that EnviroArabia 2010 will provide rewarding opportunities for environmental professionals from our industries to share new ideas, enhance knowledge, generate stimulating dialogue, and network with global peers. The extent to which these aims are achieved depends on the active participation of the attendees and upon presentation of high-quality technical papers and exhibitions.
